Queensland has recorded no new cases of COVID-19 today, but fragments of the virus have been found at seven sites in the latest wastewater analysis.
Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said fragments of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, had been detected at wastewater treatment plants at Cairns South, Cairns Marlin Coast, Condon in Townsville, Yeppoon, Pulgul in Hervey Bay, Nambour and Maroochydore.

Dr Young said while she was treating positive sewage results seriously, it did not mean Queensland had undetected cases in the community.
She said people could continue to shed SARS-CoV-2 for months after they were no longer considered infectious.
Queensland Health issued a public health alert yesterday for anyone who had arrived into the state from New Zealand since January 14 to get tested and quarantine until they received a negative result.
The alert was issued after New Zealand confirmed COVID-19 in a returned traveller who tested positive after 14 days of hotel quarantine. She later visited “a number” of locations in New Zealand.
“We are urging anyone who has returned from New Zealand to get tested immediately, even if you do not have symptoms and to quarantine until you receive a negative result,” Queensland Health said in a statement.
The 56-year-old New Zealand woman has been diagnosed with the highly contagious new South African strain of SARS-CoV-2 and is believed to have become infected while in hotel quarantine in Auckland.
In the past 24 hours, Queensland recorded 6309 tests for the pandemic virus.
