Peter Dutton’s election fighting fund was boosted by more than $320,000 last night after a $25,000-a-head fundraiser at the home of billionaire beef slaughterman Trevor Lee, and his glamorous wife Keri Craig-Lee.
The guest list read like a who’s who of Brisbane business and included Steve Wilson and his wife Jane, former chemist shop proprietor Terry White, a former Liberal Cabinet minister, developer John George and jewellery queen Margot McKinney.
Annastacia Palaszczuk’s pal Sarina Russo, the recruitment tsarina, also weighed in to assist the Opposition Leader’s march to Lodge.
Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner and his wife Nina were among the guests and Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie represented Premier David Crisafulli.
Lee and his family run Australian Country Choice, one of the nation’s largest abattoirs at Cannon Hill in Brisbane. And they have more than 30 cattle properties.
Each year, the Australian Country Choice reportedly makes enough sausages, if placed end to end, to wrap around the Australian coastline.
