Police are appealing for public assistance after a 60-year-old motorist was seriously assaulted following a road rage incident at Kangaroo Point on Tuesday afternoon.

Police allege a 60-year-old Nundah man was stopped at traffic lights travelling north on Leopard St, Kangaroo Point, when his vehicle, a silver Holden Commodore sedan, had its side mirror struck by a white moped just before 5pm.

A verbal exchange then occurred between the two parties, before both turned right onto Llewellyn St where they came to a stop.

It’s alleged there has then been a physical altercation between the driver of the sedan and the moped driver.

It resulted in the alleged victim - the driver of the sedan - sustaining multiple injuries, including to his head, face and hand.

The moped driver is described as tall, slim build, wearing a hi-visibility shirt and a black open-faced helmet.

Nearby residents are urged to review their CCTV, and motorists are also urged to check their dashcam footage for any relevant vision.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
