Man critical for life after being struck by a vehicle in a hit and run in Brisbane’s south

A man is in hospital in a critical condition and police are searching for a driver after a hit and run in Brisbane’s south overnight.

A driver has fled the scene of a serious hit and run that has left a man in a ciritcal condition in Brisbane’s south overnight.

Emergency services were called to reports a man had been struck by a vehicle travelling inbound along Ipswich Road, Annerley, near Clive Street at 11.14pm on Friday.

A 29-year-old man was allegedly struck by a silver “older style” Nissan sedan, the driver of which did not stop to render assistance.

The man sustained life-threatening injuries to his chest and leg and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

Investigations are underway to identify and locate the vehicle, with Queensland Police appealing for information.

The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing to the driver of the vehicle, or anyone who may have relevant information or CCTV/dashcam footage that could assist, to come forward.
