The Bachelor intruder Bec Cvilikas doesn’t feel like she stood a chance to win Locky Gilbert’s heart because of his connection with the final two women.
The Sunshine Coast beauty consultant was eliminated alongside Izzy Sharman-Firth on Wednesday night, with Gilbert choosing Bella Varelis and Irena Srbinovska to go through to tonight’s finale.
Having only entered the show midway through filming, and during the COVID-19 shutdown, Cvilikas, 25, said she didn’t realise how far along Gilbert’s relationships with the two women were.
“I was never aware of his connections with others,” she said.
“The time we would talk off camera I would never talk about his connection with the other women. It’s none of my business.”
“I watched it back and thought ‘you cheeky bugger’. You can see he has really strong feelings for the others. That’s also his journey.”
“Watching it back and seeing the connections I’m not surprised (to be sent home).”
But Cvilikas defended her strong feelings for Gilbert, who repeatedly said she could be the woman for him, in what seemed to be a short time.
“There are people saying ‘how can she have feelings for him, she’s known him for 5 minutes’, but there’s a month worth of conversations they haven’t seen,” she said.
“We literally spoke every single day from the moment I was introduced on the show.”
While her feelings for Gilbert were strong, she said she was never going to tell him she loved him during the hometown visits as both Varelis and Srbinovska did.
“I knew I was never going to tell him I loved him because that wouldn’t be genuinely true,” Cvilikas said.
“I would never be the person to say it for the sake of staying around. I think the other girls were in a different position. They had a couple of extra months.”
Cvilikas said she was “totally single” and has since moved to Sydney from the Sunshine Coast.
She was eager to make a return to reality TV in the future.
“I put my heart on my sleeve and I never do that,” she said.
