Plans to build a set of modern apartments each boasting a whole floor encapsulating multiple ensuites have been unveiled.
URBN Town Planning lodged the development application to Sunshine Coast Council on behalf of Zone 16 Pty Ltd to build the set of units at 16 Wright St, Maroochydore.
The 607sq m site is currently hosting a single-storey house, with sets of units and other houses on surrounding sites in the high-density residential zone.
The Sunshine Plaza, Ocean St and Maroochydore State High School are also nearby.
Documents show the proposed development will offer three units over four floors, with one apartment per floor and the ground level encompassing a lobby, shared pool area and parking.
The building will have a height of 12m, which reaches the maximum height limit for the zone.
Each apartment will have four bedrooms with their own ensuites on top of a media room as well as an open plan kitchen, living and dining area.
Balconies facing Wright St will vary in size for each unit and drying courts are available on the southern end of the homes, documents show.
A lift and a set of fire stairs will be implemented.
Documents state each household will be designated a double garage and a storage locker on top of three visitor parking spaces and two shared bicycle storage spaces.
The design was described as “modern” and “highly articulated with recesses and projections” using various colours and materials to present a visually interesting streetscape.
“Of particular note is the vertical battening, glass balustrade and timber look facade elements located on the sides of the built form,” documents stated.
