Queenslanders hit the voting booths on Tuesday as pre-polling officially commenced ahead of the Voice Referendum in two weeks time.
A steady flow of city workers as well as keen voters headed to Brisbane City Hall throughout the day to lodge their yes or no vote with campaigners from both camps lining the footpath.
Brisbane local Harrison McMillan said his choice to vote yes was an easy decision to make.
“I think Aboriginal people have been really hard done by in this country and I think it is a step in the right direction to listen to them and move forward,” Mr McMillan said.
“I have come from quite a privileged upbringing, so to listen to people who have been so hardly done by is important.
“I feel like the other side is based on hate and division and misinformation.”
However, Liberal Party supporter Hannah said her decision to vote no in the referendum was based on the lack of information provided by the Labor Party.
“I think if Albo had provided more information like how much it costs and the specifics it would have been better supported,” she said.
