Heavy traffic and crash causing 30-minute delays on Bruce Highway

Motorists returning home from holidays should allow extra travel time as heavy delays are building on the Bruce Highway following a crash.

Typical congestion and delays on the Bruce Highway southbound have been compounded by a crash near the Glass House Mountains, at Beerburrum.

The Sunday afternoon return home marking the end of school holidays meant motorists were expected to face heavier than usual traffic, however, a crash near Beerburrum about 12pm means motorists are now experiencing over 30-minute delays.

The right-hand lane at Beerburrum, near the Glass House Mountains had been closed for over an hour about 1.30pm.

There were also reports of a couch that had fallen off the back of a ute, blocking a southbound lane near Aussie World, south of Sippy Downs.

An RACQ spokesman said motorists heading home from a school holiday trip may want to allow extra time.
