Mitchell was on trial for the death of Dylan Donohue, 25, who died from his injuries sustained in the car crash just south of Alligator Creek.

Crown prosecutor Aaron Dunkerton said Mitchell was intoxicated at the time he rolled his Toyota LandCruiser dual cab utility on July 29, 2018 at around 8pm.

It took the jury 23 hours to return the verdict of guilty.

Mitchell will be sentenced on February 18 this year.

More to come.
