One man, Gavin Purcell from Carindale, left four towels for the family after seeing images of the children enjoying the beach online.

“I saw on social media that they love the beach, I thought it would be a happy memory to brighten it up, especially for the little kids coming along to pay their respects,” he said.

Another family, Rebecca and Justin brought their daughter Hermosa from the Gold Coast to pay their respects.

Rebecca said that as a mother, she could not believe the atrocities Rowen Baxter inflicted on his family.

“It’s just shocking that somebody thought this was a solution, it’s absolutely devastating”

Cars have driven through the street for the duration of Saturday morning to see the arrangements of flowers, toys, buckets and spades, holy crosses and messages of love.
