A man in his 50s has died after his vehicle veered off the Bruce Highway and crashed into a tree on Friday morning.
The forensic crash unit is investigating the crash with initial investigations indicating at about 6.20am, a utility was travelling along the Bruce Highway (Kunwarara Road) between Atkinson Road and Old Canoona Road when it left the road and crashed.
The man was declared dead at the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone who saw the utility before the crash.
Investigations are continuing.
The crash comes after another horror Bruce Highway crash earlier on Friday morning near Gladstone where a large exclusion zone remains in place.
A large B-double truck carrying ammonium nitrate collided head-on with a ute, triggering a large fire and trapping motorists, 230km south at Bororen.
Emergency services put an exclusion zone in place as they worked to free the trapped occupants of a car and contain the chemicals.
