Another elite Brisbane school has responded to the shock death of millionaire businessman Greg Josephson, who was found unresponsive in a home in the exclusive Brisbane suburb of Clayfield on Thursday night after an alleged stabbing at a house party.
A 15-year-old boy who was known to 58-year-old Mr Josephson was charged with his murder after the party, which had up to 30 teenagers in attendance.
Following a letter to parents on Friday from St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace – where Mr Josephson attended high school – another private school emailed its community.
“It is with much sadness that we inform you of the death of a member of the community last night,” the headmaster of the second school wrote.
“You may have seen media coverage this morning relating to the death of a man in Clayfield.
“Out of respect for the man’s family, we cannot provide further details. We express our sincere condolences to the man’s family at this devastating time.
“This is a tragic incident that will impact other members of our college community. We have been in touch with some of our community who knew the family. We have offered them the full support of the college.”
The headmaster said the college was offering counselling to anyone seeking assistance.
The late Mr Josephson founded the Universal Store clothing business with his brother Michael in 1999 and later sold it to private equity investors in a reported deal worth $100m.
