A 13-year-old boy has been charged after allegedly fleeing police in a stolen car loaded with five other teens during a half-hour police chase through busy streets of Brisbane and Ipswich.
Police took the 13-year-old alleged driver of a black Mitsubishi ASX and five other teens into custody late Saturday night.
The car was allegedly stolen from a car park in Browns Plains on Friday.
The vehicle was spotted on Learoyd Rd at Willawong at 10.40pm Saturday and failed to stop for police, it is alleged.
Polair tracked the car driving through Oxley and Inala before heading west on the Ipswich Motorway, where police were able to deploy a tyre deflation device at Dinmore, eventually ending the chase at 11.10pm in Wacol.
The 13-year-old was charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and evading police.
The other teenagers in the car, a 14-year-old boy, two 15-year-old boys and a 15-year-old girl, were all charged with the unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
All the boys were refused police bail and will appear in Ipswich Children’s Court on Monday.
Witnesses who may have seen the black Mitsubishi ASX are urged to contact police.
