A new Officeworks store will open in Beenleigh next month, delivering more than 40 local jobs and same-day printing services to Brisbane’s rapidly expanding southside - near the Underwood store that was rebuilt after a major fire in 2022.

The company said the new Beenleigh store on Logan River Rd, was a strategic addition designed to meet growing demand in Logan, an area experiencing significant population and business growth.

Seasoned Officeworks leader Cameron McGhie, who has experience managing stores in Browns Plains, Pimpama, and Nerang, will manage the site.

Mr McGhie will oversee a team expected to include about 42 staff, including four leadership roles, combining new hires with transfers from nearby stores.

Officeworks’ head of property Kylie Brockett said the company recognised Beenleigh as a key location in its network and the new store filled an important gap in the retail market.

“To add to that, the very unfortunate fire that occurred at our Underwood store did leave a temporary gap, however, we have since rebuilt and that store is open and trading,” she said.

“This area is growing rapidly, especially among young families and small businesses.

“We’ve made sure to include a broad range of products and services, from early learning supplies to professional business tools, ensuring the store supports our customers’ diverse needs.”

Details about the Underwood store fire have not been revealed.

The Beenleigh outlet will offer a modern retail experience tailored to the needs of local families, students, and small businesses.

Key features include a large early learning section with educational toys and stationery, an expanded art supplies area for hobbyists and creative professionals, and a business-focused layout providing access to technology and office solutions.

One of the standout services at the new store is a Konica Minolta same-day printing machine, which will enable customers to quickly produce flyers, business cards, invitations, and other materials.

This fast-turnaround printing service addresses a gap in local offerings, helping small businesses and individuals requiring last-minute printing jobs.

Recruitment for the Beenleigh store has been under way for some time, with new team members training at the nearby Loganholme outlet before transferring to the new site.

Several team members relocated to Beenleigh with one moving from Bathurst, NSW, highlighting the appeal of the opportunity.

The Beenleigh store will open on June 11 and will coincide with Officeworks’ annual Make a Difference Appeal.

This year, Officeworks will support the Kids in Need Association, a charity providing vital assistance to children with disabilities and serious illnesses across northern New South Wales and the Gold Coast.

The new Beenleigh store will be the latest addition to Officeworks’ national network of 173 stores.
