Queensland Police charge two after traffic stop in Rasmussen allegedly uncovers drugs, knives, cash and drug utensils

An early morning traffic stop in Townsville has lead to two being charged, after it is alleged drugs and weapons were found in their vehicle. SEE THE VIDEO.

An early morning traffic stop in Townsville has lead to a man and a woman being charged, after it is alleged drugs and weapons were found in their vehicle.

Around 2:20am on June 12, Queensland Police were conducting proactive patrols when they stopped a Mazda BT-50 on Gollogly Lane in Rasmussen for a breath test.

Upon searching the car, police allegedly found quantity of cash, methylamphetamine, MDMA, prescription drugs, knives and drug utensils

Police then conducted a search warrant at an address in Kelso where it is alleged amounts of cocaine, methamphetamine, and ammunition were also found.

A 38-year-old Kelso woman was charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than Schedule 4, and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of crime, possess tainted property, possession of a knife in a public place or school, unlawful possession of weapons category A, B or M, authority required to possess explosives, authority required to possess explosives and possess utensils or pipes etc for use.

She is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on June 26.

A 39-year-old Kelso man was charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than Schedule 4, possessing dangerous drugs, offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons, possess tainted property, possessing anything used in the commission of crime, possession of a knife in a public place or a school, and unlawful possession of weapons category A, B or M.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today, June 12.
