Radio star Kate Ritchie has sold a unit in Sydney’s east for $530,000 more than what she paid for it two decades ago. Find out what price she got here.

Radio star Kate Ritchie has snappily sold her Bellevue Hill investment apartment. It fetched $885,000, a week out from its scheduled auction.

Ritchie had been the third longest owner in the 1930s Art Deco block Reddington, having paid $355,000 two decades ago when she was just a 22-year-old starlet.

Though by then, she’d already been appearing on Home & Away as Sally Fletcher for near on 14 years.

The two-bedroom apartment had been with an $850,000 guide for its December 5 auction, but the buyers signed the contract earlier this week.

Phillips Pantzer Donnelley selling agents Zach Carter and Charlie Beaumont had more than 50 prospective buyers through the 68 sqm Victoria Road apartment over their five open for inspections.

They had issued four contracts.

Realestate.com.au puts Bellevue Hill’s median two-bedroom unit price at $967,000, and at $1,175,000 for all apartments, based on 120 sales over the past year.

Five years ago there were 190 sales at a $1.01 million median price.

Reddington has been busy in 2020, with Ritchie’s being the fourth sale in the boutique block of 18 this year.

Ritchie, who has owned a Randwick home since 2003 when she paid $990,000, appears in the Christmas issue of The Australian Women’s Weekly.

Around a decade ago Ritchie and her husband, the former rugby league player Stuart Webb, renovated and extended the 1940s house, installing a swimming pool on the 295 sqm block.

Their daughter was born six years ago.

In 2016 the family spent $1.75 million on a weekender at Burradoo in the Southern Highlands.
