Melbourne Football Club stalwart Jack Viney will sell his Hawthorn home just weeks after auctioning an Elwood investment property.
With a 10-month old at home and the Demons hanging on with the Bulldogs as just one of two undefeated teams in the 2021 season, the club’s former co-captain has admitted there’s a lot of pressure on.
“The more we win, the more pressure,” Viney said.
“And selling a house is pretty stressful, but luckily we have put in all the work to get it looking good.”

Viney continued: “We have our investment property going under the hammer this weekend, which will also be the first inspection of this property, … and we are playing the reigning premiers (Richmond).
“But in football, we spend a lot of time focused on the things we can control and let go of what we can’t.
“So this is just another test, and I might have to spend a couple of extra sessions with the sports psych.”

The 39 Hill Street cottage has a $1.95m-$2.05m price guide.
It’s the first one he moved into with his now-wife, Charlotte, and the area has left a lasting impression, with the family planning to stay local after the sale.
“We have loved the location, it’s such a family and community-driven area,” Viney said.
He said they had been regulars at a local wine bar after he had played a weekend game, while a park over the back fence had been a good fit for their “big puppy”.
“It’s been a terrific home to start our family in,” Viney said.
The 46 Rothesay Avenue, Elwood, investment property goes under the hammer at 1pm on Saturday via Chisholm & Gamon, with a $1.75m-$1.85m asking price.
Viney credits his father Todd, who played 233 games for the Demons, for his property investment efforts to date.
Marshall White’s Chris Barrett is handling the Hawthorn listing — which has a May 15 auction date — and said the park over the rear fence and nearby schools would make it popular with young families. Downsizers would also appreciate off-street parking in the popular west Hawthorn area, he added.
A renovation by the previous owners meant it was also in good nick after they bought the home for $1.635m in 2016.
