THIS year’s Herald Sun Pride of Australia awards celebrated the remarkable achievements of 10 Victorians.

We received hundreds of nominations recognising outstanding endeavours. All were deserving and all helped make Victoria a better place.

Last week we awarded medals to the 10 whose heroic deeds, care and compassion, community spirit and bravery were truly exceptional.

But each region had its own remarkable winners, and now the Pride of Australia is going national as voting opens for the People’s Choice award.

The Herald Sun wants you to vote for the person or people who impressed you the most.

In addition to Victorians Danny Shaddock and Jenny Wiltshire (heroism), Lisa Gray (care and compassion), Eric Watkins (child of courage), Melinda Shelley (community spirit), Les Smith (environment), Gina Poulos (fair go), Katherine Tsagaris (inspiration), Sissy-Amelia Austin and Will Austin (young leaders), Rebecca Barbara, Rebecca Biron, Vinay Dass, Andrew Di Lollo and Jo McIntyre (outstanding bravery) and Rosie Batty (courage), our website tells you about the 60 interstate winners.

You’ll read their inspiring stories that made them the pride of their states.

The winner of the People’s Choice Medal will be announced at the Fifth National Pride of Australia Ceremony on December 11 at Sydney Town Hall.
