The best argument against a second term of the Albanese government is Victoria.
If you want to see what has befallen Victoria happen nationally then by all means give Anthony Albanese another three years. Even better saddle the country with a mad coalition of Labor with the Greens and/or teals.
If you want to see crippling debt, unworkable energy policies, new and increasing taxes, divisive racial politics, further assaults against free speech as well as deep-seated societal issues then extend the prime ministership of the hard Left ideologue from Labor’s Socialist Left faction.
South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas and NSW Premier Chris Minns are members of Labor’s Right faction and it shows.
Victoria is what happens when leaders – including both Daniel Andrews and Jacinta Allan – from Labor’s Socialist Left faction run riot.
It’s an argument I’ve been making on Sky News for months and this week Peter Dutton finally made what should be an obvious point; don’t inflict the worst Labor has to offer on the country.
“What’s happened under Daniel Andrews, what’s happening under Jacinta Allan, it’s an economic trainwreck, and Victorians know it, and they’re angry about it,” the Opposition Leader said.
And, Dutton has called out the prime minister for having the man who oversaw the decimation of Victoria advising him ahead of Tuesday night’s first leaders’ debate on
Sky News.
“I hope that Daniel Andrews is out publicly with the Prime Minister,” Mr Dutton said.
“If it’s good enough for him to tell the Prime Minister how he should run the debate and how we should run the economy and how good he did in Victoria … and if there is a spare seat, why not Jacinta Allan?”
For his part, the PM has defended having the premier who inflicted six crippling lockdowns on millions of Victorians giving him advice.
“Daniel Andrews is a friend of mine and he has been a friend of mine for a long period of time,” the PM said on 3AW earlier this year.
“We famously shared a flat for a little while in Canberra when he was a staffer.”
What a catastrophe it would be for the country if Albo was able to do to Australia what his old mate has done to Victoria.
