Enormous disparity between what homeowners want prioritised and what causes preoccupy the minds of activist councillors

The Marxist malcontents in local government have been delivered a clear message, while the far-Left revealed their ugly side at the Pride March.

This past week has seen a bit of the good, the bad and the ugly.

The Good – the sane majority are speaking up and it’s clear they’re thoroughly sick and tired of their hard-earned being used to advance the culture war fantasies of Marxist malcontents in local government.

A statewide survey has found gross dissatisfaction, with four in five ratepayers saying their council’s performance is “terrible or poor”.

The data also reveals there’s an enormous disparity between what homeowners want prioritised and what causes preoccupy the minds of activist councillors.

Predictably homeowners want the focus to be on the three Rs of local government, rates, roads and rubbish – as well as parks, according to Council Watch.

The issues they ranked as least important were climate change strategies and policies, equality/diversity measures, Indigenous reconciliation and LGBTQIA+ issues – or in other words, the very subjects that councils are increasingly focused on.

The Bad – King Charles’ cancer diagnosis has saddened many Australians.

One does not have to be a monarchist to understand the value of the institution to this country and feel compassion for a man who was second-in-line to the throne for more than 70 years and is now fighting cancer less than a year after his coronation.

Queen Camilla and heir apparent Prince William intend to share the weight of the King’s duties as the 75-year-old monarch takes time off to receive medical care.

Many thought the monarchy would be in peril in Australia after the death of the much- admired Queen but the Republican movement will continue to flounder.

There is little appetite for change and, thanks to the unnecessary, expensive and divisive Voice campaign, the last thing most folks want is another referendum.

The Ugly – remember when pride was a sin and not an excuse for men in sequins and stilettos to prance down the street?

On Sunday during St Kilda’s Midsumma Pride March, some 50 protesters attacked Victoria Police members participating in the event, throwing abuse, paint bombs and other objects.

Chief Commissioner Shane Patton described the group’s behaviour as “absolutely disgusting” but he should realise that no matter how much police command “wokifies” police, the far-Left will always hate them.
