Dan’s pathetic puppets, the Greens’ Samantha Ratnam, the Reason Party’s Fiona Patten and the Animal Justice Party’s Andy Meddick, plumbed new depths this week by voting against greater transparency.
The cowardly crossbenchers have shown themselves to be nothing more than Labor stooges. Every other crossbench MP voted for transparency and accountability but not the trio who throughout the pandemic have rubber-stamped Premier Dan Andrews’ radical legislative wishlist.
Ratnam, Patten and Meddick may claim to be independent of Labor but they have supported the Andrews’ government at every hurdle.
Despite their best efforts the motion to reinvestigate the systematic misuse of taxpayers’ money and other acts of malfeasance passed the upper house after Labor MP Kaushaliya Vaghela crossed the floor.
For her troubles the Western Metropolitan MP can expect to be expelled from the Labor Party and will no doubt be receiving an avalanche of hate from the Dan Cult.
The Premier himself did not hold back dismissively referring to the first Indian born member of the Victorian parliament as “that person”.
“I wasn’t entirely surprised but to be honest I’m not here to talk about that person or the events in the upper house yesterday,” Mr Andrews said on Thursday.
“I’m far too busy. I’m not sworn in to be a commentator, I’m sworn in to get on and get things done.”
You can imagine the howls of rage and wall to wall condemnation that would follow if Scott Morrison or any conservative referred to a female MP as “that person”.
Andrews’ Teflon coating is beginning to fray.
The premier’s golden run of dodging accountability for unparalleled malfeasance may be coming to an end.
And, it’s someone from his own camp who ensured that the rorting, branch stacking and misuse of public funds will be properly investigated.
Meanwhile, the three useful Labor idiots masquerading as independents have shown that their loyalty is to Andrews, not the electorate.
