I listened to Sam Newman’s podcast with neo-Nazis so that you don’t have to. Here is all the rubbish that was said

I listened to Sam Newman’s anathematic podcast so you don’t have to. Don’t bother with it — it’s antisemitic, full of lies and a total waste of time.

Sam Newman hits out at backlash to controversial guests

You cannot be serious, Sam.

They were my thoughts, and many others, as I painfully listened to Sam Newman’s podcast interview with two well-known neo-Nazis.

During the 55-minute rambling, Newman did very little to challenge Thomas Sewell and Blair Cottrell’s lies.

Instead, the AFL personality gave the pair the time, and a platform, to spruik their insidious ideologies and conspiracy theories.

“I believe that Adolf Hitler was the greatest man of the 20th century,” Sewell said.

“I believe the Holocaust is disputed. I don’t believe that it’s true. I think it’s a trillion-dollar industry that’s been running for too long.”

And it didn’t stop there.

Sewell continued his tangent, claiming gas chambers were a “falsity” created by a “narrative”.

Although Newman acknowledged he “probably” should stop the interview, he didn’t because “everyone has a story”.

“I’ll probably take a kicking for doing this, but that’s why I’m doing it, because we speak to people of interest,” he said.

“I don’t think you could get any more interest in these two people sitting opposite me for probably the wrong reason, but it doesn’t matter.”

The trio spoke in depth about the illegal Nazi salute until Cottrell spat the dummy at the 12-minute mark.

“We’ve jumped into the deep end with this conversation,” he said

“I didn’t know we were going to start off with Hitler and the Holocaust.”

Newman snarked back: “Let’s pretend we’ve just started this conversation … welcome … what question would you like me to ask you first up?”

Cottrell then questioned whether the interview was live or prerecorded, accusing Newman of editing snippets of the episode.

“We’ve never edited anything,” a stern Newman said.

“I’m not accusing you of that,” Cottrell replied.

“No, you said you’d like to do it live … I don’t know if you were recording this on your phone but you can play it back and when it goes to air you can see,” Newman said.

It seems like Newman was more fired-up about his integrity being questioned rather than Sewell and Cottrell’s unhinged opinions.

The trio discussed Australia’s shocking “white policy” and whether it should be reinstated.

“I could imagine in the 60s, not that I was alive back then, Australia probably was a nice place to live and it’s probably a lot different now as a result of the people who are coming into this country,” Cottrell said.

“I want our country to be free and noble and white,” Sewell said.

The racist and homophobic remarks continued, too explicit to repeat.

Meanwhile, Jewish groups slammed Newman’s decision to interview the pair, labelling it an “absolute moral collapse”.

“Sam Newman has now plunged into the depths of disgrace, rolling out the red carpet for these men,” Anti-Defamation Commission chairman Dr Dvir Abramovich said.

“These two have been accused of being the faces of hatred, and Sam Newman has just handed them legitimacy on a silver platter.

“By giving them a platform, Newman has spat in the face of Holocaust survivors, trampled on the legacy of the courageous diggers who died to defeat Hitler, and insulted every Australian who has fought against bigotry.”

So, for anyone who may be thinking of hitting play on this episode, don’t waste your time.
