Greens supporters should focus on Greg Barber’s vile comments about women instead of Adam Bandt’s Instagram post about his wife

IDIOTIC Greens voters have slammed their own MP Adam Bandt for calling his wife “hot” because they think he’s objectifying her.
It’s sad to think a man isn’t allowed to give his own wife a compliment without being accused of sexism.
No wonder the Greens find it hard to be taken seriously.

If I was Bandt’s wife Claudia, who’s got two young girls, I’d be flattered that my husband thought my looks were worth commenting on.
Instead they think she’s being turned into a sexual object.
What would have passed muster with the dogged and depressing Greens: “The cisgender womyn who chooses to share my life has a conventionally passable visage?”
“My heteronormative white male gaze assesses my life partner’s facial narrative to be socially pleasing?”
Let’s just stick with “hot”.
And yet another former Greens leader, Greg Barber, got away with something far worse — calling women hairy-legged feminists and “power pussies”.
Greens are so obsessed with being seen to do the politically-correct thing that they attacked Bandt on social media, and yet many turned the other way in the face of Barber’s real sexism.
The attack on Bandt came after he posted an entirely innocent photo of him and his wife with the caption: “With hot wife at Bangarra opening night of ‘Dark Emu”.
The comments flooded in. Some accused him of being tacky. “You start to wonder if he thinks of her as his partner or just as a trophy,” said one.
Another said: “Does your wife have a name? Is she only defined by her relationship to you and her perceived attractiveness? I thought we were better than this.”
Another blasted the MP for “putting your wife out there for public consumption” and another said it was “poor judgement”.
“Women in the public eye are sexually objectified enough and you are alienating your progressive support base by contributing to that. Be more measured in your social media posts. This is not a public statement, it is a private one. Have a firm word with your social media advisor or hire one if you are in danger of misjudged Trumpish outbursts like this,” the person wrote.
Even when Perkins assured everyone that she was okay with it, the debate still continued.
“It’s OK everyone, I’m completely fine with this post! It was just a reference to how hot we are for each other even after 11 years together,” Bandt’s wife wrote.
Some even accused her of “internalising misogyny”.
It’s ridiculous. Perkins isn’t being objectified without her knowledge.
Much more serious is the fact that a Barber, former Greens stage leader got away with calling women in the workplace “hairy-legged feminists”, “power pussies” and “ hairy lesbians”
Barber, who is the brother-in-law of Federal Greens leader Richard Di Natale, reached an out-of-court settlement with a staffer who alleges he subjected her to sex discrimination and
bullying. She was told by other staffers to stay quiet or things would get even worse.
This secret deal comes off the back of widespread concerns about the mishandling of sexual misconduct complaints within in the party.
With these serious issues to address, it’s pathetic Greens followers are obsessing about a man calling his wife hot.
