Bolt: Journalists should be ashamed over calling Donald Trump the new Hitler

No wonder voters are recoiling from journalists and the mainstream media, who have lied so often that voters no longer believe a word they say about Donald Trump.

Journalists are stunned. They’ve called Donald Trump the new Hitler and – horror! – his lead in the election with just one week to go has actually grown.

Journalists should actually be ashamed. This proves they’ve lied so often that voters no longer believe a word they say about Trump.

Voters are also marking down Trump’s rival, Kamala Harris, now in meltdown as her poll numbers collapse, screeching that Trump “openly admires dictators, including Adolf Hitler” and is out for “completely unchecked power”, standing for “fascism, to his core”.

If Harris is mad enough to believe that, how could you trust her with government?

How can you trust the media, now colluding in this last great lie against Trump?

Take these latest reports that Trump admired Hitler and wanted his kind of generals. The sole source is Trump’s bitter former chief of staff, John Kelly, but such is the mainstream media’s anti-Trump hysteria that it’s enough for weeks of Trump-Is-Hitler nonsense.

MSNBC host Joy Reid even ranted that were Trump elected again “there will be camps … There could be (former House Speaker) Nancy Pelosi being hauled off to jail.”

Not even the owner of the Trump-hating Washington Post, Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos, could believe his own reporters and scrapped the editorial they’d planned to publish to damn Trump as a threat to democracy.

The problem with such hysteria is, first, Trump has served already as president and voters saw he wasn’t a fascist then.

Second, the media has for nearly eight years run dementedly false claims to paint Trump as a traitor, a fascist and a threat to the world. Many voters now believe nothing they say any more.

For instance, for years journalists claimed Trump colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election. Proven false.

They claimed Trump called neo-Nazi protesters “very fine people”. Also false.

President Joe Biden himself claimed Trump just sat and “watched the cops being killed” by pro-Trump rioters who stormed the US Capitol on January 6. False again: the only person killed was a female protester, shot by police.

Why believe this “Trump-is-Hitler” lunacy now?

I’ve never seen such suicidally selfish rhetoric from a presidential candidate and media in the US.

It’s as if they’d rather burn the US to the ground than let Trump win. They rather let the world think America really is fascist.

It is a deeply unpatriotic act, and no wonder voters are recoiling from Harris – and from journalists.
