Andrew Bolt: Leftist push for new apartheid now totally out of control

Undaunted by the evident craziness of trying to divide this mongrel nation by race, the Yoorrook Justice Commission’s report handed down this week is now pushing for a new apartheid.

Dear God. It’s not just Labor’s planned Voice to parliament. This Leftist push for a new apartheid is now totally out of control, and Aboriginal children could die.

Read the latest report from the Yoorrook Justice Commission, created by Victoria’s crazy Labor government to supposedly do “truth telling” for Aboriginal people.

As is the way now, four of Yoorrook’s five commissioners identify as Aboriginal, despite clearly having many ancestors of other races as well.

Yet, undaunted by the evident craziness of trying now to divide this mongrel nation by race, these commissioners this week handed down a report demanding not just separate justice for people identifying as Aboriginal but, worse, a separate child protection bureaucracy.

The Yoorrook commissioners are rightly appalled that Aboriginal children in Victoria are 8.5 times as likely to be found to need protection, and nearly 22 times more likely to be in out-of-home care.

But not once does their report discuss the parents’ responsibility or possible cultural factors behind such shocking levels of neglect, and worse.

It instead blames our supposedly racist white society, and – unbelievably – racist child protection officials.

It thunders that it was told the “risk assessment tools and decisions were affected by racial bias”, and all new child protection workers must now be trained to think there’s “continuing systemic racism and paternalism inherent in child protection work today that must be identified, acknowledged and resisted”.

And this Yoorrook report demands apartheid.

Sure, it doesn’t use that word. It puts it more delicately: It wants “a new First Peoples-led child protection system”.

To be precise: “The Victorian government must transfer decision-making power, authority, control and resources to First Peoples, giving full effect to self-determination in the Victorian child protection system.”

So a supposedly Aboriginal child must be given to Aboriginal organisations.

They must not be given to whites, because this report says that must be presumed to do harm – a grotesque insult to the many white people who’ve cared for children with Aboriginal ancestors. And so stupid, too, given these “Aboriginal” children would most likely have a non-Aboriginal parent, too, or a non-Aboriginal grandparent or two. So why must they have only an “Aboriginal” upbringing?

The report then gets even more reckless. It wants Aboriginal carers to take over from all the white ones, so demands the government “address barriers to First Peoples becoming carers … by simplifying application and vetting processes”.

Pardon? “Simplifying” the vetting sounds very much like imposing lower standards or rushing through any checks on the adults paid to take home these highly vulnerable children.

The report even suggests child protection workers follow different standards for removing abused or neglected Aboriginal children – ones that almost certainly would make them leave more children in dangerous homes.

For instance, they must assume removing the children “causes harm”, must consider whether they’re just being racist, and must check their “paternalism”.

The government must also ensure such “early intervention and prevention … aligns with the perspectives of First Peoples”, not the wider Victorian one.

I’m sorry to bombard you with quotes from this report. That makes for turgid reading, but unless you know what this report actually says you’d never believe a government-funded body could recommend something so racist and so dangerous to children who need our help, not smug woke politics by paid activists luxuriating in identity politics.

I won’t go on about the other half of this report, even though it would probably scare Victorians even more, because this time its apartheid agenda threatens their own safety.

For instance, it says Aboriginal criminals, particularly young offenders, should also get different treatment.

Police must have a “positive duty” to “take into account an Aboriginal person’s unique background and systemic factors” when deciding whether to charge them or just let them go with a caution.

Magistrates and other officials must also consider their Aboriginality when deciding whether to give bail. Magistrates and judges must give “particular attention” to Aboriginal people when considering alternatives to jail.

So apartheid justice, too. Stand by for even more fake Aboriginals – white criminals telling police, oh yeah, I’m Aboriginal, too, to get a soft ride and kid gloves.

Meanwhile, Aboriginal offenders will surely have less fear of police.

That might be what scares Victorians most about this report by the Andrews government’s Yoorrook commission. But it’s Aboriginal children who would pay the highest price for this apartheid agenda – this great evil now preached by the Left.
