Albanese must declare now what Biden did days ago, that this explosion was instead caused by a Palestinian rocket misfiring

Anthony Albanese and his ministers have fanned the flames of anti-Jewish rage by reacting as they did. The Prime Minister must now correct the record.

Prime Minister, don’t be a hypocrite. Say out loud what other leaders have: that Israel did not bomb that hospital in Gaza.

You say you hate “misinformation” and plan a new law censoring it on the internet.

Then, for God’s sake just tell a truth that desperately needs saying, now that an insane Jew-hatred is running riot.

It’s this: the media was hoaxed, and only too willingly. Labor was hoaxed.

Truth is that Anglican hospital in Gaza was not even bombed.

Look at the photographs and video now sent by reporters from the site. They show that what was hit last Wednesday was not the hospital but a carpark outside.

What’s more, the explosion was so small in power that almost no car was blown over, and the crater is the size of a puddle. The hospital walls are still standing, though some windows were blown in.

So Albanese must declare now what US President Joe Biden did days ago, that this explosion was instead caused by a Palestinian rocket misfiring and falling back to earth seconds later.

It was all captured live by Al Jazeera television, and the rest was propaganda by Hamas, a terrorist group that runs a police state.

But Albanese must now correct that record, because he and his ministers have fanned the flames of anti-Jewish rage by reacting as they did. I am astonished he has not done so already.

On Wednesday, Albanese implied Israel may indeed be guilty of “targeting” the hospital, because he could not have been referring to anyone else when he said: “We condemn any indiscriminate attacks and targeting of civilian infrastructure, including hospitals.”

Two of his Muslim ministers, Ed Husic and Anne Aly, then accused Israel of an alleged war crime – collective punishment of Muslim civilians.

This cannot stand. Israel is now turned into the barbaric villain in a conflict it never started. Hamas is instead the victim despite initiating the bloodshed by invading Israel and deliberately slaughtering civilians, including people at a music concert. Girls were raped in front of their parents; babies were burnt alive; people were beheaded; and 203 people, including 30 children, were taken hostage. And now Hamas lies about Israel bombing a hospital.

Vilifying Israel as the satanic killer of the innocent is not just a lie, but inverses the moral order and stokes dangerous tensions even here.

So why won’t our Prime Minister declare the truth?
