A major international cruise ship has made the Top End her first Australian port of call post Covid.

Oceania Cruises’ Regatta pulled into Darwin port last week, bringing hundreds of guests with her.

The ship, which can carry more than 1000 guests and staff combined, welcomed about 150 travellers embarking from Darwin.

The cruise company’s Asia Pacific managing director Steve Odell said the liner is renowned for her small ship luxury.

“This is the first time we’ve had an Oceania Cruises ship in Australia and New Zealand

since 2019, so we are delighted to welcome Regatta back to the region,” Mr Odell said.

“She will be in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and South Pacific waters for the entire summer season, with plenty of opportunities for immersive exploration.”

After departing Darwin on Friday, the ship is set to travel to several small Indonesian ports before reaching Malaysia and Singapore.

She then travels down Australia’s west coast and over to Sydney.
