Two people have been killed within 48 hours in separate horror crashes on the same stretch of highway in the state’s Southern Tablelands.

Emergency services were called to the Hume Highway at Gunning – about 40km west of Goulburn – about 6.45am on Sunday after reports a car had left the road and rolled.
The driver was freed from the wreck and airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.
A passenger was treated by paramedics but could not be saved and died at the scene.
Officers from Hume Police District established a crime scene and have launched an investigation.
The Hume Highway at Gundaroo Road was temporarily closed southbound.
It comes after another fatal crash nearby less than two days earlier.
About 6am on Friday, emergency services were called to the same section of the Hume Highway near Gunning after a car left the road and crashed.
The driver was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.
