Only pre-registered buyers will be getting a look inside the former Lidcombe home of property developer Salim Mehajer, the jailed fraudster who was declared bankrupt in 2018.
Marketing is under way ahead of its scheduled October 31 auction, with conservative $3.5m-plus hopes.
It is the priciest current listing in the suburb, where prices hit a record $4.01m in May.
Mehajer first attracted media attention in The Sunday Telegraph when his August 2015 wedding to his bride Aysha involved helicopters, supercars, motorbikes, fighter jets and dancing drummers, with Frances St, closed off.
The property is for sale through McGrath’s Ruma Mundi and Kon Stathopoulos, who were appointed by NAB pursuant to its 2011 mortgage.
There are four caveats on title claiming a stake of any sale proceeds, with the most recent coming in June from Najah Hamdan claiming he lent $550,000.
“This home epitomises elegance and grandeur,” the marketing says.
The former Auburn deputy mayor purchased the 846sq m building block for $565,000 in 2007.
It is now a four-level mansion with 10-car parking in its column-less basement, plus rooftop terrace, sauna and home theatre.
The stunning Persian onyx staircase featured in the rapper Bow Wow’s music video remains its highlight.
There was a 2017 court case when Mehajer was ordered to pay $670,000 for its massive installation of marble.
There is an alfresco terrace overlooking the pool and jacuzzi on the ground level.
