Authorities have made a grim discovery in the search for a missing fisherman on the NSW South Coast, locating his body just days after he was reported missing.

Emergency services were called to a location near Boyds Tower at Edrom, south of Eden, about 5.10pm on Friday following reports a man had been swept off rocks.

Officers from Marine Area Command and South Coast Police District were joined by Marine Rescue, SES, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and NSW Police divers in the search for the missing man.

The search continued until about 10.15am on Monday, when police divers located the body of a man in Leather Jacket Bay, close to where the fisherman was last sighted.

South Coast Police officers established a crime scene, with the body believed to be the missing 34-year-old fisherman.

A report will now be prepared for the coroner.
