Joseph Younes charged over 1400kg cannabis supply in Kingsgrove raid

A Sydney man charged in relation to a major drug syndicate took part in the supply of a whopping 1400kg of cannabis, police allege.

A Sydney man charged in relation to a major drug syndicate took part in the supply of a whopping 1400kg of cannabis, police allege.

Joseph Younes, 40, also allegedly dealt with the proceeds of crime totalling $1.8m over the past 12 months.

The Daily Telegraph was present at Younes’ home in Kingsgrove on Wednesday morning when tactical police executed a search warrant in the quiet suburban street at 7:30am.

Younes was heard coughing relentlessly as the officers searched his home, an ailment he claimed was the result of a recent bucks’ party.

During the raid – police allegedly discovered large amounts of cannabis leaf, cannabis oil and a small quantity of cocaine. White powder was lined up on a plate in his kitchen.

He was escorted off his premises into a waiting police vehicle, wearing trendy Adidas sneakers and a hoodie which he used to cover his face from our photographer.

Younes will remain in custody while the matter is listed for bail review on July 30 at Sydney Downing Centre. He has not yet entered a plea.

This search warrant was conducted as part of Strike Force Greentree, established in December.

Police recently took dozens of people off the street for supplying drugs through “LeafedOut”, an online platform which was brazenly offering express delivery across Sydney.

“Police open the door!” one called before storming the home of 42-year-old Nathan Everingham.

Court documents reveal Everingham has been charged over supplying large sums of cocaine and cannabis. Police also allege he dealt with more than $681,000 between September 2024 and June 2025 that there are “reasonable grounds” to suspect were proceeds of crime.

Everingham will remain in custody before a committal hearing on September 17.

The Daily Telegraph can also reveal NSW Health is assisting police with its inquiries in relation to possible links between the illicit supply of drugs and the schedule 8 licence category provided to legal medical cannabis wholesalers.

“NSW Health is contacting licence holders to ensure they are compliant with reporting requirements. Where non-compliance is identified, relevant licences will be cancelled,” the agency said in a statement.

There are 48 companies in this state licensed to supply medical cannabis.
