Dani Willis won’t be the only one popping the champagne corks this weekend on Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day at Royal Randwick.
You may have seen Ms Willis’ face in the stands of the SCG cheering on her cricketing powerhouse husband Steve Smith, but this Saturday she’ll be donning her favourite outfit as the ATC’s Ambassador at the second day of The Star Championships.
“I’m thrilled to be back in Sydney as ATC’s Ambassador for Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day,” Ms Willis said.
“What a fun way to spend Easter weekend watching world-class racing, spending time with friends and family and putting on a beautiful outfit, I can’t wait.”
Ms Willis will be among the embrace of thousands of racegoers in a kaleidoscope of colour, fashion, fine dining and world-class racing.
The mammoth race day features four group one races but all eyes will be on the $4 million Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes, the richest weight-for-age race of the Sydney autumn carnival.
Champion mares Anamoe and Dubai Honour share favouritism at $2.50 but the race has been labelled one of Sydney’s best with a quality field including Unicorn Lion, Cascadian and Montefilia set to challenge the favourites.
Racegoers will need to be ready for a long day’s partying on Saturday because after the race card is over, the fun and dancing will kick on with a performance by internationally acclaimed music artists Hot Dub Time Machine.
Gates open at 10am for members and 10.45am for general admission. Tickets are available for $35 from Ticketmaster.
