Clydebank Rd, Balmoral: Young motorcyclist dies in two-vehicle collision in Lake Macquarie

A motorcyclist, believed to be aged in his 20s, has died in a two-vehicle crash on a suburban street in Lake Macquarie.

A young motorcyclist has died following a crash on a suburban street in Lake Macquarie.

Emergency services were called to Clydebank Road at Balmoral, just south of Toronto, just before 1pm on Wednesday following reports of a crash.

At the scene, officers were told that a motorbike and utility had collided at the intersection of Kooringal Close.

Paramedics rendered assistance to the rider; however, he was unable to be revived.

While yet to be formally identified, the rider is believed to be aged in his 20s.

The driver of the utility – a 55-year-old man – was not injured.

He was taken to the John Hunter Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established.

Lake Macquarie police will investigate with the assistance from the crash investigation unit.
