Tickets are now live for the highly anticipated AFLW Dreamtime in Darwin encounter between the Essendon Bombers and Richmond Tigers.
The face-off will take place under lights at TIO Stadium on August 29 with the first bounce set for 6.45pm.
Last year’s inaugural Dreamtime in Darwin match was a success with the sides playing out a draw in front of more than 4400 fans.
The match received a vote of confidence from the league when it was named to return for a second year reaffirming the NT’s deep cultural and sporting connection with the national game.
The Dreamtime match celebrates and honours Indigenous culture, while highlighting the NT’s critical role in developing Indigenous talent for both the AFL and AFLW.
The fixture offers local fans the opportunity to witness elite-level women’s football and aims to inspire the next generation of Territory talent.
It follows two huge AFL fixtures at TIO Stadium earlier this year where the Gold Coast Suns beat both Hawthorn and the Western Bulldogs in tight matches.
Head of AFL Northern Territory Sam Gibson said fans should secure their tickets now to avoid missing out when game day comes around.
“Dreamtime in Darwin is shaping up to be one of the standout events on the Territory’s sporting calendar,” he said.
“With two proud clubs, a strong cultural celebration, and the electric atmosphere of TIO Stadium under lights, it’s sure to be a spectacle.
“We’re encouraging fans to get in early and secure their tickets, you won’t want to miss it.”
Tickets are available at Ticketmaster and will also be sold at the gate on match day.
