A near record number of nominations have flowed in for the 2025 Northern Territory Export and Business Awards.
The 2025 Northern Territory Export and Business Awards are the official business awards supported by the Northern Territory Government and recognise business excellence and innovation across Alice Springs, Katherine, Tennant Creek, East Arnhem and Greater Darwin.
The awards combine the Territory’s most prestigious and longest- running Chief Minister’s Export Awards program, and Business Excellence and Outstanding Customer Service Awards.
The Awards recognise outstanding achievements of the Territory’s local businesses, start-ups, and international exporters within a wide range of industries across the Northern Territory.
A key highlight of this year’s Awards is the elevation of its prestige through the introduction of a highly credentialed and independent judging panel, featuring industry experts, sector leaders, and past recipients from across the Northern Territory.
Led by its co-chairs, the panel will now undertake a rigorous evaluation process guided by clearly defined and comprehensive criteria, ensuring the highest standards of fairness, transparency, and integrity.
Chamber NT Vice President Natalie Bell said just under 280 submissions have been received.
“At such a busy time of year, it’s a powerful endorsement of the awards’ value to see so many businesses take the time to engage with the nomination process,” she said.
“A high-quality awards program gives business leaders the opportunity to reflect on their achievements, evaluate their success, and celebrate their resilience and innovation.”
Ms Bell said Chamber NT is proud the Finocchiaro government is partnering on a program that recognises excellence in customer service, business performance, and export success.
Minister for Trade, Business and Asian Relations Robyn Cahill said the Finocchiaro Government is working hard to rebuild the Territory economy and make the Territory the best place in the country to do business.
She said the along with the Chamber NT the government recognises and celebrates the outstanding achievements of businesses, individuals, and organisations that drive growth, innovation, and success across Territory.
Ms Cahill said the government is delivering on a key Finocchiaro Government election pledge to cut red tape and approval time frames by fast tracking recommendations from the Approvals Fast Track Taskforce.
“We’ve launched the HomeGrown Territory Grants program and abolished payroll tax for 200 small businesses,” she said.
“We are backing businesses to grow, invest and create jobs. We are proud to be support the Awards and businesses across the Territory.”
Regional winners will be announced at regional awards events and the overall NT winners will be announced at the Gala Awards Ceremony in Darwin on 10 October 2025.
