Nightcliff home sells for $1.5m as median house price grows to $1m

Resort-style home in Nightcliff sells for $1.5m, contributing to the growth in the sought-after suburb’s median house price. See what makes this home special.

Common selling myths... busted

The seller of this idyllic Nightcliff property was sad to let her “resort-style” home go but very pleased with the interest it received.

Jeanette’s six-bedroom, three-bathroom home at 15 Camphor St sold on June 21 for $1.5m.

She said the buyer would have plenty to enjoy about the property and its location.

”It’s like living in a resort — you sit on the deck, have the garden all around and you’ve got the pool,” she said.

“Living in Nightcliff is like living in a village.

“You’ve got your local shops, know the people there, got the markets on Sundays and you’re right on the beach.”

Jeanette said she initially wasn’t sure how much interest the property would get but the result could be viewed as a win-win for seller and buyer.

“It’s always a bit of a worry when it’s a house like that because it’s a bit of a niche market,” she said.

“It was a fair price for the buyer and a fair price for us.”

Jeanette said the rise of the suburb’s median house price to $999,500 was not a surprise given the quality of properties on offer.

“In Nightcliff and Rapid Creek you get a lot of those tropical houses with big decks,” she said.

“They’re not the concrete blocks, they’ve got a lot more character and they are well-suited to the environment.”
