Mission Territory Day fireworks is officially a success - our fireworks have arrived and unpacked and stored in a secure location ready for distribution.
Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro was there on site on Thursday morning to witness their unloading and safe storage.
A relieved Fusion Fireworks boss Luke Caridi joined the Chief Minister for the big occasion and said Territorians will not be disappointed with what will be on offer.
Big bang items such as Mindil Mayhem, Arnhem Awakes, Kakadu Kaos and Rock Breaker are certain to attract attention.
Other big ticket items are the Peacekeeper, Earthquake, Chapo, Ball Breaker and the Ultimate Aerial assortment.
“The industry owes a big thank you to our Chief Minister … she has gone above and beyond to make it happen for Territorians,” Mr Caridi said.
“It’s great to have a leader who is prepared to go into battle for the Territory.
“And Territory WorkSafe have been enormous working to help us.
“It is going to be a great Territory Day.”
Mrs Finocchiaro said she was relieved to see the fireworks arrive and unpacked.
“It’s fantastic; Territorians love their crackers and securing these fireworks for Territory Day means we will all be able to celebrate the traditional way,” she said.
“It was a difficult time for the Territory’s importers, but big thanks has to go to News South Wales Premier Chris Minns and Queensland Premier David Crisafulli. They understood that southerners should not mess with Territorians so they put a lot into helping us get this over the line.
“Territorians appreciate that and today is a victory for them.”
The Chief Minister said that while it is an exciting opportunity to celebrate with fireworks she urged people to do so responsibly.
“We want Territorians to be safe and everyone to have a good night.”
