A man has been killed in a two-vehicle crash bringing the Northern Territory road toll to 34.

A MAN has been killed in a two-vehicle crash on a remote road.

The crash occurred about 1pm on Thursday between two cars on the Aavannah Way, Calvert.

A man was killed.

There is no information about any other injuries or fatalities at this stage.

Police remain on scene and a crime scene has been declared.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said police from Borroloola were on the scene. “(They are) currently working to repatriate the deceased,” he said.

“Major Crash detectives will arrive on scene (Friday) morning.

“The road is closed and motorists should expect significant delays.”

The crash takes the NT’s road toll to 34.

At this time in 2021, 22 people had been killed on Territory roads.

In total, 35 people were killed on NT roads in 2021.
