TWENTY-five youths and eight adults have been arrested in the last week during a police operation in the northern suburbs targeting anti-social behaviour.
NT Police said a “heightened police presence” in Casuarina has had a “tangible impact” on youth crime and anti-social behaviour.

Superintendent Sean Parnell said police responded to a surge in criminal activity in the northern suburbs by increasing foot patrols, with the Mounted Unit and the Dog Operations Unit deployed in hotspot areas.
“In the last week we have apprehended 25 youths aged between 13 and 17 years, and arrested eight adults. A further eight people were taken into protective custody,” he said.
“We maintained constant foot patrols around Casuarina in the days and evenings, and then moved to Karama in the early evenings.
“The operation will continue through until the end of the school holidays.”

During the week, members laid multiple charges, including three counts of unlawful entry
17 counts of stealing, two counts of robbery, four counts of assault, one count of damage to property, one count of disorderly behaviour and breach DVO.
Additionally, police executed two warrants and 19 litres of alcohol was also destroyed.
