Darwin crime: Woman related to Linford Feick hospitalised after brick thrown through car window

Three children allegedly involved in hurling a brick through the window of a car, injuring the relative of the late Linford Feick have been found.

Serious Crime detectives have found three children allegedly involved in hurling a brick through the window of a moving car and injuring a woman related to the late Linford Feick.

NT Police were searching for a teen, aged about 14, who allegedly threw the brick through the rear side window of the car as it was passing the entrance of the Bagot Community on Bagot Rd.

Police allege the incident occurred about 10.20pm on Wednesday, and that the woman suffered a “serious injury” to her eye.

She was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment.

Police allege the teenager fled the scene into Bagot Community with two other youths.

Police have been investigating since the incident and have found three children, aged 8, 9 and 11, who are believed to have been involved in the incident.

Police are engaging with the families of the children along with the Department of Children and Families, as well as the victims.

This masthead has been told the injured woman is related to Nightcliff Friendly Grocer owner Linford Feick, who died two weeks ago in an alleged stabbing at the store.

Phillip Randel Maurice Parry, 18, has been charged with murder over the April 23 alleged stabbing.

No pleas have been entered in his case.

A source confirmed the woman and other family members had been travelling in the vehicle, an Uber, when the brick was allegedly thrown.

The group had been returning home after Mr Feick’s wake, hours after his funeral was attended by 200 locals to pay their respects.

“Patrols were conducted in the area, and investigations into the identity of the (alleged) offender remain ongoing,” an NT Police spokesperson said.

Detectives urge anyone with information, particularly if they have dash cam footage to contact police on 131 444 and quote reference number NTP2500047387.

Initial, 7am: A person was injured after a car they were travelling in was struck by a brick on Bagot Rd on Wednesday night.

It is understood the incident occurred about 10.20pm, with paramedics treating the victim for glass wounds.
