Whether it was the racing action, fashion or the plentiful kid’s activities there was plenty to enjoy at the 2025 Chief Minister’s Cup.
Known as the family day of the Darwin Cup Carnival the second major race day had plenty for the whole family to enjoy including bouncy castles, face painting and petting zoos.
It was also a day for the first Fashions on the Field of the Carnival, this time giving juniors a chance to show off their outfits for the judges.
Last year’s Darwin Cup Carnival Fashions on the Field winner Anggie Wibowo used the opportunity to show off her designs on her daughter Qiana Wibowo.
“I enjoy coming to the races every year,” she said.
“I always come to the Chief Ministers Cup because there’s lots of activities for kids like the mini zoo and jumping castle.
“Then my daughter is able to join in the fashions of the field too, it’s great because it’s my own designs with the Aboriginal fabric.”
There were plenty of kids enjoying the racing as well cheering on from the sidelines as the horses and jockeys sped toward the finish line.
Meanwhile, the major sponsor of the day, Asian United Food Services hosted a major function in the grandstand to mark 12 years as the sponsors.
