Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury has welcomed the newest Magpie into the family nest.

Scott and his wife Alex are celebrating after the safe arrival of their second child, a daughter, Darcy Rose.

The proud parents, who have a two-year-old son, Jax, took to Instagram this morning to announce the safe arrival of their adored daughter.

“She’s here! Darcy Rose Pendlebury, 3.93kgs of perfection, we are so in love,” wrote Alex.

“Darcy Rose @alpendlebury amazing,” posted Scott.

The couple have been counting down the days to Darcy’s birth with Alex posting a photo on Thursday showcasing her baby bump.

“Jeepers. #goodmorningbump #feelingmcmassive,” she wrote on Instagram.

In May, Scott told Men’s health that becoming a father had improved his footy and his life.

“It balances you out, very, very quickly,” he said.

“Before Jax I was very much focused on football and everything else was in the back seat.

“Now when I’m at footy I’m fully there. But once I get in the car I’m pumped to get home and see my wife and see Jax.

“It just takes my mind completely away from footy and I feel a lot fresher when I get back into the club.”

MORE GOSSIP QUEEN

He added that he cherished his time with his son.

“Just enjoy it because it goes quick,” he said.

“That’s what everyone says. So yeah, enjoy the moment. I often find myself saying I don’t know what I used to do without Jax.”
