A GOLD COAST fast food outlet suddenly closed this week.

Lights have been out and the drive through was shut off at the Labrador McDonalds since the start of the week, as the chain underwent major refurbishment to its roof.

It is understood staff took up shifts at neighbouring outlets to make up hours as the refurbishment was taking place.

A spokesman for McDonalds said the closure was needed to ensure the health and safety of our people and our customers.

Happily for lovers of fast food, the outlet is now open again.

“It’ll be back open at 5pm (Thursday) afternoon,” they said.
