Tweed police uncover ‘treasure trove’ of weapons, drugs at Kingscliff residence

A POLICE raid has uncovered a treasure trove of weapons, drugs, and suspected stolen phones, tablets and motorcycles.

A KINGSCLIFF police raid has uncovered a treasure trove of weapons, drugs, and suspected stolen phones, tablets and motorcycles.

A search by Tweed Byron Police of the Sand Street residence at 3pm on Friday uncovered shortened and imitation rifles, a double barrel and receiver from a 12 gauge shotgun, 1.5 grams of methylamphetamine, 264 grams of cannabis, as well smaller weapons including a laser pointer and slingshot, several interstate license plates and multiple kinds of ammunition.

iPads, iPhones, Samsung phone and tablet devices, a commercial compressor, two KTM motorcycles and a Commonwealth Bank card were also discovered.

A man has been charged with 21 offences including four counts of possessing ammunition without a license, two counts of possessing a prohibited weapon, and five counts of possessing suspected stolen goods.

He was refused bail and is set to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court at a later date.
