TREASURER Tom Koutsantonis says a NSW senator should apologise for slamming the city of Adelaide after the A-League Grand Final. The Pulse has the details plus news, weather and traffic.
SOUTH Australian Treasurer Tom Koutsantonis says NSW Senator Sam Dastyari should say sorry for his bitter sledge of our city of Adelaide.
In Parliament yesterday, Labor’s Sam Dastyari teased SA’s Cory Bernardi who had gloated about Adelaide United’s victory over Western Sydney in the A-League Grand Final. “It must have been a tough week for Senator Bernardi in Adelaide,” a fired-up Senator Dastyari said. “His city was overrun by a bunch of halal-eating, drum-beating, Sydney-loving football fans.” Senator Bernardi replied: “We beat you.” Then came the low blow from the Sydneysider. “You may have won the A-League final, but we get to go back to Sydney and you have to stay in Adelaide,” Senator Dastyari said. Mr Koutsantonis said Dastyari was a senator, not the leader of the opposition, and his comments were his own. “Sam Dastyari doesn’t reflect the views of the Australian Labor Party,” he told ABC 891 on Tuesday. “I think everyone in the Labor Party is horrified by what he said. “What Mr Dastyari said was silly and stupid and he should apologise.” Read our live blog below for all the details.
