Stars gather at The Star in Broadbeach to hear full list of 2019 Logies nominees

Dozens of stars have gathered on the Gold Coast this afternoon to hear just who’s made the cut at this year’s Logies.

Logies 2018: Best & Worst Dressed

DOZENS of stars have gathered at The Star in Broadbeach to find out who’s made the cut for this year’s Logie nominations.

Nine’s Today Show host Richard Wilkins and Studio Ten host Sarah Harris, MCing the event, were pleased to be back on the Gold Coast - both agreeing they love the weather.

“The Logies were always great when they were held at The Crown (in Melbourne),” Mr Wilkins said.

“But I think holding them on the Gold Coast has given (The Logies) a new feel. We all come here for holidays, so it’s just like another holiday.”

Mrs Harris said she liked the change as it meant the women had the chance to wear dresses without freezing in the cold weather.

City of Gold Coast Deputy Mayor Donna Gates and local councillor Meaghan Scanlon arrived together for the event.

Ms Gates said last year the Logies “showed off” what the Gold Coast has to offer from the hinterland to the coastal beaches.

“We have incredible memories from last year,” she said.

“Film and production has grown so much over the past 12 months. We greatly value our relationship with TV Week Logies.”

Cameron Merchant, Jules Robinson and Heidi Latcham from Married At First Sight, nominated for Best Reality TV Show, arrived together.

TV Week Editor Thomas Woodgate announced this year there will be live voting, which will launch as of Monday June 24.

One of several new categories added this year is “Most Popular TV Commerical”.

The award winners will be announced at The Star on Sunday June 30.

This will be the 61st year of the Logies and only its second on the Gold Coast. The region has now locked it in until 2021.
