There were mixed emotions on Saturday as Geelong couple Shannon Patching and Adam Bell married, just days after the death of their six-month-old son Jude.
The pair were surrounded by love and support as they prepared for their wedding day amid the heartbreak of Jude’s illness.
Despite his fighting spirit, the infant died after a mysterious genetic conditions led to medical complications last week, just days before his parents’ wedding.

“Even going through an unimaginable amount of pain and testing, he would smile every time,” Ms Patching told the Geelong Advertiser last week.
A raft of Geelong businesses teamed together to help the couple prepare their wedding, and donated their services for the special day.
Among those to lend their support was Kari Teagan Photography, who captured these poignant photos of Shannon and Adam at the wedding.
