A cyclist was killed after colliding with a car on the Great Ocean Road on Sunday.
Roads were closed between Lorne and Skenes Creek after a 57-year-old man, believed to be from Torquay, crashed into a car near Cape Patton, police say.
Lorne acting sergeant Michael Atkinson said the man had been riding with a group from Apollo Bay to Lorne when it’s believed he strayed onto the wrong side of the road.
Emergency services attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Department of Transport advised motorists to allow for extra time and follow the directions of emergency service workers.
The closure is between Hird Street at Lorne and Skenes Creek Road at Skenes Creek.
The road is expected to remain closed for some time.
