A MAN has been arrested after he was allegedly caught stealing copper from the Football Park demolition site.

A MAN has been arrested after allegedly stealing copper from the Football Park demolition site.

An alarm went off at the West Lakes stadium just after 2am on Wednesday which prompted SA Police patrols to set-up cordons.

Officers, along with police dog Iggy, found the man hiding in the western stand a short time later.

He allegedly had a small amount of copper piping on his person plus a knife and tools.

The 54-year-old Seaton man was charged with unlawfully on premises, going equipped, theft and carry offensive weapon.

He has been refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
