THE nation’s leading film convention, set to have a “lead role in Australia’s economic recovery”, has locked in a date to be held on the Gold Coast in early 2021.
The who’s who in film and television and industry professionals will gather at The Star Event Centre from February 16 to 18 for SCREEN FOREVER’s annual event.
More than 850 delegates attend annually from around the world but the 2021 event will have international big-hitters attend virtually online.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the event will be used to “market the Gold Coast to the world in hopes to score more big budget television and films.”
“The Queensland Government is proud to sponsor this important networking opportunity for screen professionals at such a critical time for them and for their industry as a whole, as it eagerly takes a lead role in Australia’s economic recovery by generating jobs, vital revenue
and more local content for the world to enjoy,” Ms Palaszczuk
The event will give producers the opportunity to pitch their projects to national and international leaders in the film industry.
Screen Producers Australia (SPA) CEO Matthew Deaner said: “SCREEN FOREVER is an unmissable opportunity for the creative workers behind Aussie films, TV shows and immersive media content to secure deals which will generate millions in revenue for the Australian economy.”
Mayor Tom Tate welcomed the event saying it was another “huge coup during these difficult times”.
SCREEN FOREVER had previously been held in Melbourne for the past eight years but it was nabbed in June 29 when Queensland signed a three year deal to host the event on the Gold Coast.
